maaaan. My FBI agents and social media have been on my case about:
- DO IT BEFORE YOU’RE READY
- CLARITY COMES AFTER ACTION
- DO IT SCARED.
okay, fine. shit.
Today is October 1st 2026 at 9:56 pm and I am an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Maybe for a month or two now.
The test was easy (lowkey common sense)(but we all know that common sense isn’t all that common).
Anyways, for years I’ve unofficially taught many forms of fitness classes. It’s a vibe and I’m good.
I have personality, motivation, and decades of knowledge TBH.
Anyways, I have a tendency to wade through honey towards the goals I have. Call it time blindness or fear of success, I tiptoe.
However now I live in New York, the place that will take you any/everywhere if you don’t know where you’re going. (On G, there’s so much to do at any given time. It is a blessing and… a test.) A test of what you stand for, what matters to you, and how you’re going to turn your reality into a dream. You have to live with intention and discernment.
One of the visions for my life is to provide free mobility sessions to the community. I believe to be mobile is to be human; to be able to exist your full life. So instead of doing my old pattern of planning every detail of the curriculum, shuffling thru music selections that won’t get me sued, and deep-diving into how to communicate effectively to a range of people…
I put in the application first.
sent.
OH MY GOD.
Listen bro, I am a skilled overthinker. I do it so well, I don’t even notice. It’s natural. It’s a beautiful curse.
Anywho, now that I sent this shit out into the universe, I need to ACTUALLY prepare.
If… WHEN they reach out, what do I NEED to be ready for the first class…
A mother effin routine.
- 1dynamic warm up
- 2bulk of the sweat
- 3comfy cooldown
hmm..
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
And also, that’s so doable.
Crazy how the AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wants to be the primary and priority experience.
Is that… dare I say… self-curated anxiety. We curate LITERALLY everything in our minds. It’s our choice. Like you can imagine the cutest animal in your arms, then you can immediately imagine it pee on your thumbnail, bite your nipple, then catch on fire.
And your body will experience the emotions attached to each of them. adoration. disgust. pain. chaotic hot ass misery. then be like, Da FUDGE, it’s just an imaginary red panda.
Hold something cute in your arms.
ready?
Interesting part is, this can all happen in 5 seconds or less.
Our brain is capable of processing so much information instantly.
So if our brain can cook up a flaming red panda in five seconds with zero help, imagine what it does with everything we scroll past all day.
I won’t go down the social media vent / rabbit hole, but what I will say is we need to be intentional with our intake. What and WHO you pay attention to: watch, read, listen to, experience all determines what you spend your time thinking about and processing. I’m not saying go be a gung-ho productive AMERICAN, but consider your brain and where it can take your emotions.
I’m losing my point but I’m happy I know where I want to dedicate my brain power to.
You’re not a robot, you’re a complex human being. Be-ing.
to exist, to take place, to occupy a position, or to have a specific quality, identity, or state
-ing existing, in an ongoing, active way
We call ourselves human beings, but we rarely stop to hear what that’s saying. “Being” is the verb to be with “-ing” attached, the same ending we use for anything in motion: running, breathing, stretching, growing (which, conveniently, is exactly what I want to teach). We aren’t humans who simply are. We are humans who are be-ing: existing, living, unfolding, actively and continuously, in every moment.
So go live.
You have no further pressure than the dolphins in the ocean or the trees that sway. Do as necessary to live the life you desire. It’s your choice, constantly.
okay bye ✌🏾
